Before understanding niche marketing I would like to start with a quote”If you chase two rabbits, you will not catch either one“.

So how is this quote relatable with our topic Niche Marketing.? You will understand this very soon.

Let’s now deep dive and understand “Niche”.

According to the definition: The business of promoting and selling a product or service to a specialized segment of a market is what is known as Niche Marketing.

This might look like gibberish for now, but don’t worry you will understand everything just keep going.

If you are about to start with your first product idea and are drowning down with the confusion of where to start then starting with the niche is a great place to begin.

Understand this with an example.

If you are about to start your career with Digital Marketing, you may have to narrow it down because Digital Marketing in itself is a deep ocean and you cannot master it all. You can break it down into its components i.e SEO, Paid Marketing, Email Marketing, Video Marketing, Social Media Marketing, select any one or two, and master it. This is what I meant by niche marketing, in this way you are more focused and confined to a specific need. It’s all about honing in on a specialized group of people.

But why is it even important to understand niche marketing? What is its importance?

When you have a highly specific product and services, there will be fewer companies out there with the same offering. For example, Fitness Industry, there are so many videos coming out for workouts at home, so you can select your niche as a personal trainer for pregnant women training them stretches and strength-building exercises that won’t disturb their baby.

Increased Visibility

Businesses that serve niche markets are unique, leads to more customers, and also improves their online presence. With unique product and services, tends to stand out in the market. Getting in front of the right people is more important than getting in front of lots of people. They often get featured in talk shows, newspaper, television, radio stations

More Focused

The niche market targets very specific customers. When you focus on fewer but the right audience, you can focus on the quality of your products or services and on nurturing your relationships with your customers. You can get to know your customers more deeply and helps you to better serve your customer. When your niche is clearly defined you stay focused on selling to customers that can give more profits.

More Credibility

As you gain experience in your niche, you start building your reputation as an expert in your field and people starts to trust you and you build strong relations with your customers.

Identify what you are passionate about lists them out, and then start working on it every day.

Survey your market to know their pain points. Know the problems that people are facing in your niche. You can ask questions on Facebook, Quora, Twitter. Offer a better solution to their problem, in this way you can know if your product or services are liked by your target audience or not

Analyze your Competitor

Start off with Google and make notes of all your competitors’ sites. Understand what your competitors are doing and what you can do in a better way. Research the keywords that your audiences are searching for, in your niche.
